ABOUT
WWBIC is a leading innovative statewide economic development corporation that’s been “Putting Dreams to Work” since 1987.
We open the doors of opportunity by providing underserved individuals who are interested in starting, strengthening or expanding businesses with access to critical resources such as responsible financial products and quality business and financial training.
We focus on individuals who face barriers in accessing traditional financing or resources in pursuit of their dreams and economic well-being … in particular women, people of color, veterans, rural and lower wealth ndividuals.
Every day we work hard to achieve our social goal of improving the economic well-being of individuals by advancing inclusive entrepreneurship and facilitating self-sufficiency strategies.
WWBIC is an equal opportunity provider.

Many entrepreneurs are looking for resources and quality expert advice to help launch and grow their businesses. At WWBIC, we can assist through our wide variety of over 400 workshops offered each year. For convenience, most are offered on evenings and weekends, online and in dozens of locations throughout the state.
Classes are facilitated by our dedicated staff and volunteers, who are experts in their field. Our classes range from one-hour entrepreneurial exploration workshops or technology for your small business, to our most comprehensive multi-session business planning series, Start Smart.
One of the biggest challenges that entrepreneurs face when starting or growing their business is finding the money to do it! Some business owners will rely on their personal savings, others will bootstrap their financing together through friends and family, and others may get funding through banks or credit unions. Others may look for investors that may require ownership in your company based upon their monetary injection and expect return on their investment (Angel investors or Venture Capital Investors, similar to “Shark Tank”).
In some situations, there is another option … WWBIC. We are the State’s largest microlender providing access to fair capital for business start-ups and expansions.
WWBIC makes loans to small and micro businesses up to $250,000. We work with both women and men in analyzing their business’ financial needs and guiding them through the loan process.
Before applying for a loan from WWBIC, please carefully review this entire section, including the Borrower FAQ.
SBA programs are offered to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis.
Financial planning is not just for the wealthy. We all need to manage our household finances effectively and WWBIC can help. Education and coaching will increase your financial capability and help build life-changing money skills. These skills will improve your financial health and provide a more secure life.
Gaining control over your money and your resources will give you many benefits. You’ll gain confidence to talk about money, build credit, and borrow money as needed. Financial emergencies may still occur, but you will be better prepared to handle them. Knowledge and resources will help you to achieve your financial goals!
WWBIC is an equal opportunity provider.
